May 23-26th is Owasippe Memorial Day Work Weekend. This annual campout is where the troop goes to Owasippe and prepares for summer camp. During this time, we come together as a community to bond, work hard, and enjoy the great outdoors. In the past, we have cleared trails from overgrowth, painted inside or outside of cabins, and also done something as simple as helping deliver all of the pallets and canvas tents to the campsites from winter storage. Each task plays a vital role in ensuring that our campsite is ready for the summer adventures ahead and allows us to take pride in our contributions to the campsite and the environment. The experience not only fosters teamwork and camaraderie but also reinforces our connection to nature and the importance of maintaining the beauty of our campgrounds for future generations.
