This month we are taking Halloween by storm with our thrilling haunted hike, an event that promises to be a spine-chilling adventure for all. In years past, we have successfully conducted this Haunted Trail during the day, which provided the scouts with valuable insights into how haunted houses are set up and organized, allowing them to appreciate the art of scare tactics and design. However, this year, we are elevating the excitement by venturing out at night, ensuring the scouts experience the full scare factor under the cloak of darkness. The night offers an atmosphere filled with mystery and excitement, as shadows dance around and every rustle of leaves sends a shiver down the spine. Our participants will navigate through uncanny landscapes, encountering eerie sounds, and spine-tingling sights that will leave them breathless. We believe this immersive experience will foster creativity, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of the thrilling world of haunted experiences. Prepare for an unforgettable night filled with frights and camaraderie!
With October rapping up, so does our much-anticipated Popcorn Fundraiser, which promises to be our biggest yet this year and seems to get bigger with each passing season. The money raised through this annual event plays a crucial role in helping the troop cover various costs associated with outings, equipment purchases, and other essential needs, but most importantly, it helps keep the cost of these outings down to a minimum for all families involved. This successful fundraiser also provides an excellent opportunity for the scouts to earn “Scout Bucks,” which serve as cash that they can utilize for uniforms, personal Scouting equipment, and essential gear that they may require throughout the year. Moreover, the “Scout Bucks” can be thoughtfully used for outings, allowing scouts to participate without needing to spend their parents’ money on camping trips and adventures, thereby fostering a sense of responsibility and independence among the young scouts as they engage actively in their Scouting journey. The foundation of our community relies on the enthusiasm and support of our troop families, which makes this event not just a fundraiser, but a celebration of our collective commitment to Scouting.
