For the remainder of September and most of October, Troop 51 will be doing their yearly Fundraiser, POPCORN. Yes, that deliciously savory popcorn that everyone loves! Troop 51 offers a wide variety of options, including microwavable popcorn in various flavors, kernels for those who prefer to pop their own, and classic tin-popped popcorn for the traditionalists. Whether you are a fan of salty or sweet, there is a popcorn option for everyone. Plus, by supporting our fundraiser, you are helping the troop to fund exciting activities, educational outings, and community service projects throughout the year. Later this month the troop is going to hit the scenic trails of DesPlain’s River. The anticipation is high as they plan to hike through the picturesque landscape, immersing themselves in nature’s beauty before reaching the tranquil lake where a delightful BBQ awaits, surrounded by friends and family. This outing is not only an opportunity for the scouts to bond and enjoy the great outdoors, but it also serves as a learning experience. As they navigate the trail map, they will develop crucial skills in orienteering and map reading, understanding the significance of following the outdoor code, and appreciating the importance of responsible outdoor behavior. This enriching experience promises to be both educational and a whole lot of fun!
